24 Seven’s requirements were brief but quite clear. They wanted to re-design their existing tiered office space in Leeds; the design was to be as innovative as it was unique and to create a ‘wow’ factor, but also be functional. In addition they wanted to bring a sense of the outdoors to what had previously been a drab office. Beyond this they were happy to give our designers creative free reign. Following a detailed design process and a series of presentations to the Directors with sample boards, a final office design was soon agreed.
Particular focus was placed on the boardroom, associated offices and meeting areas. Frame-less glass partitions with tiger stripe manifestation, combined with full height walnut veneer doors were used to the front of the boardroom and offices. Existing oak doors and staircase in the core area were french polished to a matching walnut effect to complement the new doors.
To created a sense of the outdoors feature carpet tiles were used to create a sense of perspective and make a connection between the areas. As a final flourish the sand effect extended into an adjacent room in which were fitted more feature carpet tiles to create the impression of water.
To the entrance area more durable ceramic floor tiles were used in combination with barrier matting. The ceramic tiles were also extended up the staircase. Another stand out feature within the staircase area was the application of a geometrically designed logo in corporate colours running down the walls from top to bottom. Other design touches included the replacement of standard radiators with contemporary designs and the installation of drop down bulkheads to the ceilings in the boardroom and office area.
More regular items of work included the full refurbishment of the staffroom, with the provision of new hi-gloss kitchen units, slate effect vinyl flooring and new dining furniture and easy chairs. All office areas were also fitted with new LED lighting to achieve better lighting levels, ease of maintenance and the greater energy efficiency this type of fitting provides.
In addition to the office design and fit-out, the new office furniture was supplied and installed. This included bespoke walnut veneered furniture for the boardroom, as well as standard office desks and chairs. The works were completed in three phases to accommodate the clients ongoing business activities. The completed office refurbishment exceeded the clients expectations in terms of quality and aesthetic appeal and achieved the unique and contemporary office design they wanted.
