Parkside Flexibles are one of the world leaders in the design and manufacture of product packaging, with a commitment to advanced and innovative products. To maintain their edge Parkside decided to invest in a new contemporary creative suite including and adjacent laboratory facility. The brief called for the creation of a unique space to host joint development project workshops with customers and packaging partners. There were to be four areas including a reception refurbishment, a new creative office, a client meeting and presentation area and the laboratory. All areas were to be contemporary with a clean and creative emphasis, a natural transition between the areas.
To the reception area we installed a bespoke desk with a bulkhead and LED lighting over. Use was made of feature flooring, contrasting wood effect vinyl planks with carpet tiles. The carpets were continued up the staircase to the new office, with an applied ribbon logo in corporate colours flowing up the walls. The office was fronted with one hour fire rated glass partitions, providing the necessary visual appeal, whilst complying with stringent building regulations. The office was provided with designer Italian desks and hi-gloss store units.
Another fire rated glass partition with glass doors was used to enter into the creative suite. In this space our designers created a flexible and multi-use area including a boardroom, brain storming area and presentation area. Innovative features included glass partitions with manifestation, a glass topped boardroom table, a continuous hi-gloss store wall incorporating dry wipe doors with area recessed for plasma TV’s and coffee machines. To link these areas the ribbon design was continued around the walls and transitioned across the glass partitions in acid etched manifestation. A curved feature walkway was also fitted, with contrasting carpets to emphasise the various areas.
The laboratory area was accessed directly off the creative area via another glass door. Within this area we installed hi-gloss white lab units including a fume cupboard. The timber effect feature vinyl transitioned into this area with contrasting stone effect tiles to define a separate wet area. The combination of the design area, laboratory testing and evaluation area has been a great success for their customers innovation process. It is now possible to design, mock up and produce a sample in a matter of hours. Parkside Flexibles are delighted with the finished product and they have received much praise and admiration from their clients.
